I am excited to announce the addition of three new members of The Volkov Law Group.

When I launched the firm, I was committed to providing high-quality ethics and compliance, and enforcement defense services. With the help of my existing members, Lauren Connell, Dave Lusby, Evan Lee and Jon Umarov, we have been fortunate to grow and develop our services and capabilities.

I am proud to add three new talented attorneys who each bring their own unique strengths to the firm.

Vincent Ruiz joins us as Of Counsel. He has over 30 years’ experience as a litigator,
appellate attorney and regulatory compliance counsel. He has successfully defended numerous complex commercial, real estate and business fraud law suits, including civil RICO actions.  On behalf of the former Resolution Trust Corporation and the FDIC, he directed aspects of investigations of failed savings and loan institutions scrutinizing the conduct of their former directors and officers for potential criminal and civil liability.

Susan Simpson joins us as an Associate. Her trial experience includes a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including the successful representation of clients in both bringing and defending actions for breach of contract, commercial torts, defamation, civil conspiracy, fraud, and infringement of intellectual property. She also has experience in civil and criminal appellate litigation before state and federal courts.

Jacqui Merrill joins us as an Associate. She is a recent law school graduate. She has experience practicing criminal defense, including working at public defender offices in Washington and Virginia.  At the Volkov Law Group, her practice focuses on FCPA defense.  Her prior corporate experience includes the review and analysis of internal processes, formation of best practices and procedures, and guidance on compliance with international regulations.
