Start the New Year with Two Important Webinars: 2024 FCPA Review (Jan. 7) & 2024 Sanctions Review (Jan. 14)
2024 FCPA Year in Review
January 7, 2024, 12 Noon EST
FCPA: For the Justice Department and the SEC, 2024 was an interesting year in FCPA enforcement and compliance. With the new Trump Administration taking over in 2025, DOJ’s commitment to FCPA enforcement may be questioned. This past year included several significant FCPA enforcement matters — Raytheon, Trafigura, Gunvor and SAP, along with a number of significant FCPA cases again st individuals. Meanwhile, the SEC continued its steady enforcement of mid-size cases, along with major cases where it had jurisdiction.
DOJ also issued new compliance guidance, established its own whistleblower program, and continued to push on ethics and compliance programs to evolve and improve, especially with respect to emerging technologies and artificial intelligence.
2024 Sanctions Year in Review
January 14, 2024, 12 Noon EST
Sanctions: The Justice Department’s and the Office of Foreign Assets Control’s commitment to sanctions enforcement as “the new FCPA” continued to evolve. DOJ has warned corporations that aggressive sanctions enforcement actions are coming — to that end, DOJ assigned 25 new prosecutors to the National Security Division to execute on its promise. Meanwhile, OFAC had a slower enforcement year with some interesting twists and turns. With the new Trump Administration taking over in 2025, sanctions enforcement will continue to be a key enforcement priority.
In this two-part webinar (January 7 and January 14, 2025), Michael Volkov will review 2024 FCPA and Sanctions Enforcement and Compliance trends.
Session I will focus on the FCPA and Session II will focus on sanctions enforcement and compliance issues.
